Facilities Management
Facilities management is the term used for the management of a building which encompasses the building fabric and the services. The British Institute of Facilities Management describes it as “the integration of multi-disciplinary activities within the built environment and management of their impact on people and the workplace.” Efficiently run commercial premises contribute to the achievement of strategic goals whilst providing a safe and efficient working environment for your employees, visitors and the public.
Facilities management is usually divided into hard services and soft services. Hard services includes the technical aspects such as mechanical and electrical, building maintenance and telecommunications and soft services refers to areas such as cleaning, catering, security, landscaping and office services.
