Case Study : IDPP
IDPP requested that we undertook various projects and provide a number of training solutions. Smart FM started working on these in 2005 by writing a health and safety policy and a fire safety plan; these were a joint policy for IDPP's Brighton and Richmond offices. Where there were specific issues for either of these offices to be taken into account, they were written into the policies. We also carried out a workplace audit and produced a report with recommendations for improvement in certain areas.
Smart FM was then asked to train a group that was to be responsible for health and safety in the office environment in Richmond. This involved a three day course and covered all the areas applicable to this environment. We later ran a one day course for IDPP's IT personnel with an emphasis on the work carried out in their particular roles. This included risk management, display screen equipment, electrical safety and manual handling.
