Case Study : Association of British Insurers
We started by writing the ABI's health and safety policy, which entailed a complete review of all their existing arrangements. Once this was completed, we started to implement the changes and improvements that were required.
The project encompassed a programme of training for their health and safety co-ordinators, fire marshals, first aiders, security staff and people who had manual handling tasks in their roles and display screen equipment users.
We also set up risk assessment programs to include display screen equipment, COSHH, working at height, personal protective equipment, young workers, pregnant employees, first aid, fire safety, driving at work, home working, lone working and working off-site. In addition, we set up formalised procedures for issuing permits to work and hot work permits for high risk activities.
Additional control measures were implemented such as regular audits and building inspections.
The policy was underpinned by formalised management procedures to ensure that health and safety was managed successfully in the future.
"I found the services offered by Smart FM to be very professional in approach. Clare has vast experience and knowledge of both Health and Safety and Facilities Management and the two areas together mean that any health and safety processes and procedures are both practical to manage and relevant to the business. Documentation, instructions, communication and training was always of a very high standard and pitched at the right level for the various levels of staff. The services and scope of work was also capable of being changed if dictated by the business requirements.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Smart FM to anyone".
